Upper Eyelid Surgery at Aepril Clinics

What is an upper eyelid lift?

An upper eyelid lift is a minor surgical procedure in which excess skin is removed from the upper eyelids. As we age, the skin loses its elasticity, which can make the eyelids feel heavier and cause them to droop.

Drooping eyelids can make you look tired and, in some cases, may even limit your field of vision. An upper eyelid lift gives your eyes a fresher, more rested, and more open appearance, while preserving the natural shape of your eyes.

At Aepril Clinics, we perform upper eyelid surgeries under local anesthesia, with a focus on safety, comfort, and natural-looking results.

How do you schedule an upper eyelid correction procedure?

You can book your appointment online through the booking page or by phone through our general contact number. Our receptionist will then contact you by phone to get acquainted and confirm your appointment. The consultation with the doctor will determine if this treatment is actually the right one for you.

What does an upper eyelid lift involve?

During the procedure, the doctor first carefully marks the area of excess skin. Next, the eyelids are numbed with a local anesthetic. Once the anesthetic takes effect, the excess skin is removed. If necessary, a small amount of underlying tissue may also be corrected. The skin is then carefully sutured. The procedure takes an average of 45 to 60 minutes. Thanks to the local anesthetic, you will be fully awake during the procedure, but you will usually experience little discomfort. We follow the latest medical guidelines and use sophisticated surgical techniques to make scars as inconspicuous as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

An upper eyelid lift is a minor surgical procedure in which excess skin is removed from the upper eyelids. This can reduce drooping or heavy eyelids and often results in a fresher, more open look. At Aepril Clinics, upper eyelid surgery is performed under local anesthesia.

An upper eyelid correction at Aepril Clinics costs €950. The price includes the consultation, the procedure, post-operative care, and follow-up appointments. During the consultation, the doctor will discuss the procedure and the expected results with you in advance.

An upper eyelid lift may be appropriate if you have excess skin or drooping upper eyelids. This can make you look tired, cause a heavy feeling around the eyes, or make it difficult to apply makeup. During the consultation, the doctor will determine whether an eyelid lift is right for you.

The initial recovery phase following upper eyelid surgery usually lasts about one to two weeks. In the first few days, swelling and bruising may develop around the eyes. These will gradually subside. The final result and the further fading of the scar will develop over the following weeks and months.

An upper eyelid correction is performed under local anesthesia. As a result, you will generally feel little to no pain during the procedure. The injection of the anesthetic may cause a brief sensation of sensitivity. After the procedure, your eyelids may feel temporarily sensitive, swollen, or slightly tight.

The results of an upper eyelid lift are long-lasting. The removed skin does not regrow, but the skin’s natural aging process continues. How long the results remain visible therefore varies from person to person and depends, among other things, on age, skin quality, genetic factors, and lifestyle.

During an upper eyelid lift, the incision is made as close as possible to the natural crease of the upper eyelid. As a result, the scar is usually barely noticeable once it has healed. At first, the scar may still be red or visible. This usually fades gradually as recovery progresses.

Many people return to work about one to two weeks after upper eyelid surgery. This depends on how you recover, the amount of swelling and bruising, and the type of work you do. If your job involves physically demanding work, your doctor may recommend that you take more time off.

A noticeable difference is often visible after about one to two weeks, but this is not yet the final result. The swelling continues to subside after that, and the scar continues to heal. The result may become increasingly natural over the following weeks or months.

At Aepril Clinics, you can have an upper eyelid lift performed by an experienced doctor. Before the procedure, you’ll have a personal consultation during which the doctor will assess your eyelids and discuss your wishes, expectations, the treatment, recovery, and potential risks. An upper eyelid lift costs €950, including the consultation and aftercare.
