Are you considering a Profhilo treatment and want to know what to expect? From the initial consultation to the second treatment and the final result, the process consists of a number of clear steps. In this blog, we’ll walk you through a Profhilo treatment at Aepril Clinics, step by step.

Preparation
Step 1: The Personal Consultation
A Profhilo treatment begins with a consultation. We’ll examine your skin, discuss which areas you’d like to improve, and, most importantly, what changes you’d like to see. Based on that, we’ll determine whether Profhilo is right for your skin and your goals.
During the consultation, we will discuss, among other things:
- Your current skin condition;
- The areas you want to treat;
- What Profhilo Can and Cannot Do;
- What results can you realistically expect?;
- What the treatment process looks like.
Profhilo is primarily designed to hydrate the skin and improve its quality. If you’re looking to restore volume or change your facial contours, a filler treatment might be a better option. We’ll discuss this distinction with you beforehand.
Good to know: Profhilo is not a filler. Although both treatments contain hyaluronic acid, they serve different purposes. Profhilo focuses on skin quality and is not used to add localized volume.
Treatment
Step 2: The First Profhilo Treatment
During the first treatment, Profhilo is injected into specific points in the selected area. For facial treatments, this is done using a standardized injection technique, in which the product is distributed across multiple points.
The appointment itself takes about 20 to 30 minutes. You’ll feel the pricks, but the treatment is generally tolerable.

In the meantime
What happens after the first treatment?
Immediately after the injection, small bumps may be visible at the treated sites. This is a normal reaction to the injections and will go away on its own.
It’s good to know that you won’t see the final results after just one appointment. A Profhilo treatment plan typically consists of two sessions. The second appointment takes place about four weeks after the first.
In the meantime, Profhilo has time to take effect in the skin.

Step 3: The second treatment after four weeks
During the second appointment, the treatment is repeated. This session is an important part of the initial treatment plan and builds on the first treatment.
We can also discuss right now how you experienced the first treatment and how your skin is responding. This keeps the process personalized and ensures we understand what’s happening with you, rather than just following a standard protocol.

Result
When will you see results from Profhilo?
The results of Profhilo develop gradually. After the course of treatments, the skin may appear better hydrated, more supple, and fresher. Fine lines may become less noticeable, and the skin may look more radiant.
Don’t expect the kind of change you’re used to seeing with fillers. For example, your cheekbones won’t suddenly become fuller, and your facial contours won’t change noticeably.
The difference lies mainly in how the skin looks and feels.
This makes Profhilo an attractive option for people who are looking to improve their skin but don’t want to add clearly visible volume.
Decision Aid
Profhilo or another treatment?
Not every concern calls for Profhilo. There are various skin-improvement treatments available, and the difference lies mainly in what you want to improve.
Would you like to explore the possibilities in advance? Then be sure to check out:
- Profhilo For more information about the treatment itself
- Profhilo Body for skin improvement on areas such as the arms, abdomen, or legs
- Belotero Revive if you want to compare different skin boosters
- PolyPhil Salmon DNA for skin improvement with polynucleotides
- Skin Improvement For an overview of the various treatments available at Aepril Clinics
By the way, during a consultation, you don’t need to already know which treatment you need. That is precisely what the practitioner’s assessment is intended for.

Decision Aid
How long will the results last?
Profhilo does not provide permanent results. Over time, the effects gradually diminish. To maintain skin quality, a follow-up treatment may be recommended after approximately 6 to 12 months. Whether this is appropriate for you depends on your skin and the results you wish to maintain.
So you don’t automatically have to undergo another treatment after exactly six months. During a follow-up visit, we can assess what your skin needs at that time.
Rates
How much does a Profhilo treatment cost?
When considering the price of Profhilo, don’t just look at the cost of a single appointment. The recommended initial treatment plan typically consists of two sessions.
On our rates page, you’ll find the current prices, so you’ll know what to expect in advance.
