Eyelid Surgery at Aepril Clinics

What is an eyelid lift?

Eyelid surgery is a minor surgical procedure in which excess skin is removed from the eyelids. As we age, the skin loses its elasticity, which can make the eyelids feel heavier and cause them to droop.

Drooping eyelids can make you look tired and, in some cases, even restrict your field of vision. Eyelid surgery gives your eyes a fresher, more rested, and more open appearance, while preserving their natural shape.

At Aepril Clinics, we perform eyelid surgeries under local anesthesia, with a focus on safety, comfort, and natural-looking results.

Do you want to focus only on the upper eyelids? Then opt for an upper eyelid lift.

How do you schedule an eyelid surgery appointment?

You can book your appointment online through the booking page or by phone through our general contact number. Our receptionist will then contact you by phone to get acquainted and confirm your appointment. The consultation with the doctor will determine if this treatment is actually the right one for you.

What does an eyelid surgery involve?

During the procedure, the doctor first carefully marks the area of excess skin. Next, the eyelids are numbed with a local anesthetic. Once the anesthetic takes effect, the excess skin is removed. If necessary, a small amount of underlying tissue may also be corrected. The skin is then carefully sutured. The procedure takes an average of 45 to 60 minutes. Thanks to the local anesthetic, you will be fully awake during the procedure, but you will usually experience little discomfort. We follow the latest medical guidelines and use sophisticated surgical techniques to make scars as inconspicuous as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

An eyelid lift is a surgical procedure in which excess skin around the eyelids is removed. The goal is to give the eyes a fresher, more open appearance and to alleviate any discomfort caused by excess skin.

Eyelid surgery may be appropriate if you have sagging or excess skin around your eyes, a heavy-looking gaze, or a tired appearance. During a personal consultation, the doctor will assess whether eyelid surgery is right for you.

The cost of eyelid surgery depends on the type of procedure and your individual situation. During the consultation, the doctor will discuss which procedure is appropriate for you and provide you with a clear estimate of the costs in advance.

Eyelid surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia. As a result, the procedure is generally well tolerated. After the procedure, the eyelids may feel temporarily sensitive, sore, or tight.

The duration of an eyelid correction varies depending on the procedure and the individual. The procedure typically lasts between 30 and 90 minutes. Before the procedure, the doctor will discuss the treatment plan and how much time is scheduled for the procedure.

In the first few days after eyelid surgery, swelling and bruising may occur. These symptoms usually subside gradually. After about one to two weeks, the area often looks much better, but full recovery takes longer.

Many people are able to return to work after about one week. This depends on your recovery and the type of work you do. Keep in mind that swelling or bruising may still be visible.

Every surgical procedure results in a scar. The doctor tries to place the incision so that the scar is as inconspicuous as possible. In the months following eyelid surgery, the scar typically fades gradually and becomes virtually invisible.

The results of an eyelid lift are generally long-lasting. The removed skin does not grow back, but the natural aging process does continue. As a result, the eyelids may change again over the years.

As with any surgical procedure, there are risks, including swelling, bruising, postoperative bleeding, infection, asymmetry, and scarring. During the consultation, the doctor will discuss the potential risks and complications with you in detail.
