Botox and fillers: two popular treatments that are often confused with each other. Not surprising, since they are both used to reduce signs of aging. Yet they differ substantially in their effect, application and result. What is botox?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Botox is a brand name for botulinum toxin, a protein that temporarily reduces muscle activity. It is used in cosmetic medicine to soften dynamic wrinkles such as frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles. These wrinkles are caused by repeated muscle movements, and botox causes the muscles to relax. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The treatment is quick and virtually painless. Within a few days you will see the effect: a smoother, rested look without your facial expression disappearing. The results remain visible for an average of 3 to 5 months, after which you can safely repeat the treatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fillers are fillers based on hyaluronic acid; a substance native to the body that retains moisture and provides volume. They enhance contours, restore volume loss or fill in fine lines. Consider beautifying lips, accentuating cheekbones or softening the nasolabial fold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
