It is therefore not normal sweating during exercise or in hot weather, but rather excessive sweating without any apparent cause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A distinction is made between two forms:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Primary hyperhidrosis<\/strong>, in which excessive sweating occurs without any apparent medical cause.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Secondary hyperhidrosis<\/strong>, in which sweating is caused by an underlying condition or the use of certain medications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A doctor can determine which type of hyperhidrosis you may have.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-image-fill-element\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Treatment<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the options for excessive sweating?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Treatment depends on the cause and severity of the symptoms. Treatment often begins with a prescription antiperspirant. As a result, the treated sweat glands produce significantly less sweat, while the rest of the body can continue to sweat normally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The treatment is typically used for excessive underarm sweating and takes an average of 30 to 45 minutes.
